I am in shocked. They only came to live with me in such a short time, and they have given me some surprise this morning. ;D I have seen them mated recently, but have never thought they would lay eggs so soon. Don't know what to do, part of me thinking I won't get them hatch. Gabi is very good but she lost some babies, so I don't think I have any chance at all. There are only 5 eggs in total, they might also be infertile. I am leaving them where they are, but will my lignus disturb or destroy the eggs? They are right at the bottom of the tree branch under the deep moss. What else do I need to do? Please help!!!!

Wow. Well done I don't know about hatching them, I don't have lignus. I'm sure someone who knows will give you some advice soon. Good luck with them Nat

If you wish to hatch them, I'd just leave them where they are. They have every chance of hatching and as far as I know they need the same care as normal eggs. They shouldn't be disturbed, particularly as lignus tend not to burrow from what I have read on here.
I think the tricky bit is getting the babies to survive. But it seems some people's lignus are really fussy eaters and others' are fine.

I will try to hatch them. But it's all brand new to me. My lignus usually dangle along on the wall , on the bark or on the tree branch during the day, sleeping. but they do wake up now and again. The eggs are just under the big fat tree branch, so there's a minimal chance that they will disturb the eggs. I don't want to touch or transfer them to a plastic tub and then put them back in the tank. I just want to let them be where they are without even try to look (okay I looked earlier.) My 3 lignus are not fussy eaters at all, they polish most of the food (they are mainly fruit) everyday. So will have to see. *Looks like the lignus I ordered from Eric have to live in another tank when they arrive now. * edit: Teresa, yes I am excited, feel like having a baby of my own.

My lignus laid 3 eggs although one was broken as it was laid in the door runners. The remaining 2 I have removed as I do with all my eggs but there is nothing to stop you leaving them where they are. Only reason I remove them is that I wouldn't be able to find them once they hatched in my big tanks. Let us know how you get on with them and I will do likewise. Gabi managed to hatch loads of lignus eggs so maybe she can give us some advice but as Paul said the hard bit seems to be getting them to feed once hatched. Brian.

Yes where is Gabi when I need her? How long does it take to get the eggs hatch? *I am not impatient *

hehe, Gabi is busy with building a huge viv for a bearded dragon ;D and preparation for our holidays in Italy.... I have removed the eggs to an extra little potty and had them in an incubator at costantly 29 degree day and night. No clue if they would have hatched too leaving them where they are, but I guess, cause I had the original tank on the quarium-lid and that gets too very warm and warmed the bottom of the tank where the eggs have been laid. I think they hatched after 2 weeks (but could have been 3 weeks too- not sure here, but not longer than 3 weeks). My Lignus never burried, only for laying the eggs. The next time I get LIgnus eggs, I will let them where they have been laid, to see, if the babies do better in the original tank. I am sure, I am not much help, felix.

WELL DONE Felix ;D ;D! Don't know what to do, part of me thinking I won't get them hatch. Gabi is very good but she lost some babies, so I don't think I have any chance at all. aww don't be pessimistic. the fact that you got them to lay eggs shows your a good carer. Just hope for the best. If they don't hatch they'll probly lay eggs another time. Best of luck Mike

Gabi, thanks for the information, actually that helps as you have given me some idea. My lignus moved out of the bathroom, where the temp is around 28C - 29C constantly, to the bedroom a few days ago. The bedroom temp is only 24C both in the day and night time. I have not got an incubator, so I can't really do much about that. My lignus are not very active when they were in the bathroom but they are now in the bedroom, they wake up during the day. So I ain't sure if I should move them back to the bathroom. The eggs look fine this morning, and my lignus do not burrow themselves, so hopefully the eggs will not be disturbed. But since what you and Brian both mentioned that the eggs were transferred, so I might do that tonight but depends if I am confident enough to do that. LOL.
Mike, thanks for the comment. TBH, those I don't do much and give attention to (must admit I love the lignus (and 2 tones) a lot), they just do whatever they feel like it and have given me surprises. I tried to hatch a fulica egg in the past and it got cracks all over, and I DID put my effort in with that. GRRRRR! So you can tell. I don't have much confident at all.
