One of my stuhlmanni, one of Fredrik's babies has laid eggs!
I think they are definitely pure stuhlmanni, because although they are mixed with panthera and reticulata, they are much bigger than the others and they're all only young. Having said that, we know panthera have successfully bred, laid and hatched when they are only 5cm in size so they could be a cross-breed. Very unlikely though.
But, I'm not sure what to do with the eggs, I don't want any more stuhlmanni, they are a lovely species - I just don't have the room. So I'm wondering if I should hatch them for people wanting them. If you want some shout up and I'll decide if its worth it because there may be people with babies for rehoming already. Fredrik, have you had any more....?

They are a first batch so who knows if they're fertile - although there are quite a few so it seems like a proper clutch. It laid them on the surface, scattered about, in clumps. I'm happy to hatch them but I don't want anymore than what people want. Perhaps I'll keep just enough to make sure you get what you want and if I do have a couple spare, I'll sell them on ebay to make some cash for the website and research etc. You know, I sent my last four packages off finally this week. So I thought I'd have a nice rest. And already there are more pending. These snails are sneaky buggers aren't they ;D No news on the Zachrysia eggs, I've not moved them but they've not hatched yet. No more Pleurodonte eggs have hatched so far, so I have 5 babies doing well. I've still got the eggs and they are from 2 clutches so there's still time. The things is I moved them so perhaps they are very fragile. Kevin, where are you finding the space for all these snails? lol I'm out of my depth and I only have 2 of many species.

I have a spare bedroom, they are also kept around my bedroom...I can keep, maybe 5 or 6 more large tanks at the moment, and many more smaller storage-type housing...I am hopefully getting a cabinat/ shelving soon, which will allow for many more small invertebrate species

That was great news, Paul! Nope, I haven't tried to breed them again. I'm running out of space and if I would breed more as it is today, I'm afraid Inga would move out. ;D But I intend to breed one or maybe more species this autumn, but I haven't yet decided which one/ones... Requests and suggestions are always welcomed

Lotsofsnails - I try to keep all of my snails apart, in order to have planned breedings. There are a few species which I still keep together, but eventually all snails will be kept apart. Natty - Inga is my partner, always nagging that she wants a wedding These are the species I have wich could be put together at present time: A.stuhlmanni, A.reticulata, L.panthera - brown, maybe L.panthera - striped and finally the common L.fulica. I've recently lost 2 of my 3 adult A.smithii which was very devastating. All I have left is some babies and one sad adult... /Fredrik

Anjie - It was my own fault. I gave them millet in a snail mix I have been working with. The millet caused the similar symptom as if you would have fed them pasta. So, stay away from millet... Natty - No rush, I'm still young and our children aren't teenagers yet But I will marry her, sooner or later

Unfortunately none of the stuhlmanni eggs have hatched. A few have started to go slightly mouldy so I guess they were infertile. I'll keep them until they all are definitely not gonna hatch but I think it is highly unlikely they will now.
There were 50 eggs which seems like an awfully big clutch to be barren. They were kept the same as all the other eggs I have hatched though, and I've not heard of any special conditions for hatching stuhlmanni eggs.
Fingers crossed for another batch, I noticed the bulge, bulging so you never know....
