When the cuttlefish is new, they get it dry. After that it always tends to be a bit damp, the tank is damp and humid, and I wash it regularly.

Mike. definitely give the cuttlefish DRY!!! Just lay it on a small plastic dish or a plastic lid or something, try to keep it off the damp substrate and it won't go orange so quickly. Rather than wetting it, you can just scrape off any bits that you don't like the look of. Val * Tread is locked, because there's too many same named treads around here about calsium.
