I have decided instead of moping over Roxy (my first ever snail who died a couple of months ago)'s shell, i have decided to put it back in the snails tank as a source of calcium :-) I got this idea off the internet when someone photographed a wild fulica eating another snails empty shell.

I'm not going to remove the cuttlefish just add the shell so they have a choice, and stop rasping eachother, lol

Well, you don't want them to get in the habit of eating shells. Not sure they wouldn't anyway but it is worth considering.

How can you clean the shells, like how do you get all the fleshy tissue parts of the snail out?

well they didn't touch the shell, so i crushed it up and mixed it with a pinch of hemp and some powdered cuttlefish then i put it in a cuttlebone bowl (basically a finished cuttlebone) and they ate the lot!

I have on the compost a 11cm margie shell and a 12cm tiger shell so i hope that when the flies clean them up in the summer i can do the same, they'll be plenty for all then too, not just a 7cm fulica shell, lol
