I put them whole, shelled into a coffee grinder and grind them very finely and then put them into snail mix. Shelled and raw are better, because, there are a lot of vitamins and microelements in the shell and cooking destroys at least 30% of those. i got mine from waitrose.

I buy the ones with no shells and feed them whole, never thought to crush them!

I buy mine in the bulk aisle of my favorite organic food store. They carry organic, hulled unsalted pumpkin seeds and I can buy as much or as little as I like. Due to the hefty price, I usually buy small amounts at a time. I put a few of them whole into the tank and the snails rasp away on them until there is none left.

Some of my aspersas just luuurve pumpkin seeds. I gave them to them whole after rinsing with hot water. I guess that's as close to what they'd find such seeds in the nature: a little moistened and whole. My seeds were skinless, though I can imagine the skin would be greedily eaten as well. These aspersas seem to prefer the peel of almost everything I give them, especially cucumber peel!

I mix my pumpkin seeds with hemp and sunflower seeds by crushing them with a pestle and mortar and then adding water. My snail loves it! I heard that pumpkin seeds are also a natural way to keep worms out of their system.
