Iv just come back from beach combing and found wo Morrison bags full. They are obviously salty which is a No-no. Any ideas about sanitizing them?
Many thanks
Tigs.
PS also got a backpack full of oystershells and Scallop shells. Are these usable?

Yes, you can use all of those, the snails love rasping on shells!! I think you will only need to soak the cuttle and then wash under running tap and then let it dry that's what I would do anyway.

I soaked the cuttle from the beach, then put it in boiling water till water cooled, then soaked again. Mine wouldn't touch it. I do beleive that the ones you buy in store have been boiled with a bit of bleach added, but I didn't attempt that as I was afraid of poisoning them. Good luck with yours. if they eat it, you can send me your secret recipe

sometimes it seems as if cuttle is scarce. My local petshop is out of stock, and don't know when they will get more in. They said they are having supplier problems. And I needed to order some stuff from Daz so checked his and he is out of stock also. *wanders off to E-bay*

oh good! maybe you are on to something after all! perhaps I didn't give mine enough time to get used to it. It probably tastes and smells different that what they are used to having. * Tread is locked, because there's too many same named treads around here about calsium.
