*giggles @ digging it up* I just paid £2.80 (inc postage, from Ebay) for 500g of limestone flour, definitely going to have to dig it out at the farm suppliers...but I think they'll only sell by the sack, we'll see. Edited to add - now giggling at myself for saying "dig it out at the farm suppliers".

Limestone flour from horse suppliers..it comes in tubs, is really cheap and lasts ages...don't buy it from Ebay as you won't know how long they've had it and it needs to be fresh...if you can't get any near you, the best place I've found is Rideaway..here's the link to it.. www.rideaway.co.uk/ click on "enter shop" then on "horse and equipment care" at the top of the page and then on "food supplements", scroll down until you find N.A.F. LIMESTONE FLOUR. Hope this is of help...

The limestone flour comes in sealed tubs with use by dates on it ...if you buy it from Ebay they often sell it in bags etc and you don't know how long they've had it....It could have been stored anywhere and got damp etc..we would rather buy something that we know is sealed and has a use by date on...in my opinion you only have the Ebay sellers word for it that it's limestone flour, they could be selling any white flour to you...how would you know?

Pc screenwipes have a use by also... doesnt always apply. Limestone flour is essentially ground limestone, will do the same thing this year, as next. No different than a 3 year old cuttle bone.
The point of ebay is the price, £3-5 for 3kg vs £1.50 for 100g.

Your welcome hun I understand what you are saying re use by dates etc but in my opinion if you hadn't bought Limestone flour before and you bought it from Ebay in a bag, how could you be sure that it's even Limestone flour you've bought...after all anyone could go down to Morrisons supermarket, buy a cheap bag of flour, divide it up and call it Limestone flour....if you are a novice, you wouldn't know any different...it all looks pretty much the same...you could be giving your pets Self Raising flour and be none the wiser...I would rather buy it from a reputable supplier and know for sure that what my pets are eating is the real thing....just my opinion. * Tread is locked, because there's too many same named treads around here about calsium.
