You'll find people wont want to ship them to you cause if they are discovered at customs they will be destroyed! Also..........there is a real reason they are illegal where you live and it basically is that if they escaped or were released they could become a real pest as they have no natural predators and will breed prolifically.
My advice would be find another pet.
Brian.

I have to agree with Brian (well I don't *have* to, but I do *lol*). There are lots of other pets that aren't banned.
I've been asked a million times (slight exaggeration) to ship snails to the US or Canada and I won't as long as they're banned there as it's not responsible of me to do so. Of course there are people who will ship to you, but IMO they're spoiling it for those who would like to keep GALS but won't break the law. As long as there are irresponsible people who flaunt the laws, the ban will remain I would imagine.

I don't think there is a blanket ban in Canada. From what I have been told they are not illegal in certain parts, I think it depends on latitude.

I was going on the assumption that escar knew for sure GALS were banned where she lived. if you are not sure......find out! but don't just just take a chance as only the GALS will suffer. Brian.

Oooo I didn't know that, thanks Paul. Yep completely agree with Brian - check out the regulations for your area. I'm not sure who you'd contact to find out whether you're covered by the ban, will have a look for links.
