Thought I should post a few photos of one of my Arch. degneri. I find their tail absolutely beautiful, it looks like the tail of a dragon, don't you think?

They are the first generation of wild caught adults taken from Ghana. But I'll contact the seller once again and ask him of the size of the eggs...

I thought I should post another photo, this time taken from the side. Still "Achatina achatina" pointed apex?

Yes, it is still a tiger for me! The skin looks too like that one of my tigers. How old is the snailie? Degneri shall not get big at all, if I am right, they are only around 10cm or so. But I have never seen an Degneri in real, so count on that not too much.

If it has a reddish columella then I'm convinced it is a Tiger.....

I think you guys may be right.
One odd thing though, when they were small, their body looked just like other Archachatina degneri. That is why I have never thought of that they could have been Achatina achatina...

That's a tiger, almost certainly. Pointed shell, tiger skin and tiger V shape. The stripes aren't that distinct but judging by the low number of whorls, it is a juvenile tiger and my baby tigers (5-6cm) also have rather indistinct stripes. That picture could be a picture of one of my baby tigers.

But how come that the body were so similar to the Archachatina degneri when they were young? Has the body of a young Achatina achatina a different colouration compared to older specimens?

It can change, in the batch Catherine sent me, some were light skinned, some dark. I have 6 babies, some have grey skin and some have developed a brown-yellowish colour a bit like Sophie's.
Perhaps the flesh texture was so small it looked more Archachatina-like.

Arno, I can't tell for sure that the columella is red. It's still too thin to tell for certain, but the small stripe there is is red... Included a photo of all of the young ones together:
