Off the top of my head, balteata are true Achatina not Lissachatina so they will have sculpture on the nepionic whorls. I'll check that when I get home, but I'm sure that is the case.

I thought that may have been one of the differences, that fulica are subgenus Lissachatina and balteata arent, I wasnt sure though, and was hoping there were more obvious differences, to tell from just a picture of them.

Never heard of (A. balteata) are these often on sale? as far as I know they have never been imported live and offered for sale identified as A,balteata, if they were it isnt documented anywhere online, maybe theyve been misidentified as fulica before though?
