I have had a little look at certain threads and pictures and see that your snail can grow too fast, too quickly and that you can overfeed them causing this to happen also. (the shell has no colour where previously there was) I never knew this could hapen............... I can't say i have had this problem with mine at present but was worried in case it happens in the future . Mine all currently have cuttle fish but i was going to get some crushed oyster shell - now i'm not too sure If anyone else has had a problem with their snails growing too fast due to diet/calcium can you please put your comments . I may have got myself a bit confused so i just need clarification !!! Cheers! Sally x

I think the growing too fast thing was on the tiger babies thread where some of the babies didn't seem to have any stripes. I have never had any cause to think my snails are growing too fast in fact I think most people feed their babies as much as poss to bring them on and make them bigger and stronger. I think the tiger baby thing could be due to another cause so I wouldn't worry about this at all if I were you, let them eat as much as they want Val

i was watching this thread closly ....
well my fulcia r growing at a tremendous rate ... but theier shells seem good and strong
at the same time i am keeping torts and they really need to grow slowly to prevent serious medical problems
again in hindsight snails may live 6 years torts can live 60+ years
looking forwrds to others points of view
personally my snails get all they want to eat dayly
