i'm not sure what is wrong with this one The mouth certainly looks sore. The only thing you can do is bathe it, to see if it soothes it any, hopefully the swelling will go down. I'd use cold water. Are there any foods safe for snails that are slightly antiseptic in some way, it looks like a reaction to an infection of some description. If that is the case, snails have remarkable immune systems and hopefully it can recover enough to start eating again. I'd try and feed really watery food for now. Perhaps he will be able to eat some of that. I really hope he recovers, I'm rooting for him.

Didn't someone have an expelled digestive tract recently that they managed to sort out. I seem to remember them pushing it back in and the snail recovered. It may have been on cybersnail. I wonder how that snail is now? At the moment, if this is the case with yours Anjie, then yours is less severe so hopefully he can beat the problem.
Does it look like it can be pushed back in or has it not come to that yet?
...a bit of digging reveals it was a prolapsed genital pore. Ah well, still rings bells though

I had to go out last night and left Colin to look after the sick Tiger. When i got home ....... the tiger didn't make it I'm so baffled - he was fine and then ........... Although he had died he was still out of his shell and even had his eyes stalks out - his body and head were all swollen though so that may be why - he couldn't get back in his shell with a bloated body. God this is soo frustrating arghhhhhh.

thats the problem with wild caught ones you don't know there past history something could have happened before you got him, he could have been exposed to chemicals or something hes nibbled on on his journey :-|

Aww Anjie thats so awful, poor snail, I can't even look at those pics. It looked so painful but he's at rest now and he was well looked after by you. What you do is totally worth it cause most survive.

I agree it is worth it, yes a few die, but they all would otherwise. My tetley has turned into a complete utter PIG! Lmao. He eats twice a day now Cos I've got him into that routine of waking twice for food, I feel guilty not feeding him, he has definatly gained weight now he looks so much fatter than he did. I still haven't weighed him, I really must do that tonight and then again in a week. See Anjie, if it wasn't for you... ;D
