Hi there!! got a problem with my snails, they are about 11months old and havnt laid eggs yet... i have found one single egg on two occasions, i checked the soil and the was no sign of any more eggs!!! can my snail (s) be egg bond and if so what can i do to cure this so i can hear the patter of tiny slimers? thanks

It may be nothing, if they have never laid eggs before then they may lay a couple of infertile eggs to start off with, i'm pretty sre you will get what you want, you just have to be patient, they always lay when you least expect it, lol

thanks! put my mind at rest when i was feeding them yesterday i found another egg just sitting on the top of the soil with i big hole next it where the snail has buried itself!?! lol

lol sorry!!!! thats egg bound.. not eggg bond!!! it was late it means not being able to lay eggs for some reason??

In farming and animal husbandry, the term egg bound refers to a condition in laying hens where a hen is unable to pass an egg that has formed. The egg may be stuck near the cloaca, or further inside. Egg bound is a reasonably common, and potentially serious, condition that can lead to infection or damage to internal tissue. The bound egg may be gently massaged out; failing this it may become necessary to break the egg in situ and remove it in parts. If broken, the oviduct should be cleaned of shell fragments and egg residue to avoid damage or infection. ;D
