Has anyone found any other animal to keep with a snail that would form a symbiotic relationship. I am thinking about some sort of lizard or gecko that would eat the small insects that come with the snail, but wouldn't bite the poor tender meaty snail.

I think a gecko or lizard wouldn't work since they need a different setup than the snails.I don't know enough about reptiles or amphibians(maybe a better idea) to help you.

Why do people constantly try to mix snails with other species in the confines of the vivarium. We get this so often, can I put a snail in with a millipede, lizard, lion, tiger or bear If you really must keep any animal in such a small space (and lets be honest even the biggest tanks are tiny compared to nature) then please keep them with their own species and don't try to create your own slice of nature in captivity, it isn't fair to any species to be crammed in with other species that are completely different to them. Brian.
