Someone mentioned a hairy worm, at some point... cant recall and cant for the life of me find the original post. But Im wondering (if the poster remembers and sees this) if these are what you mean?

I've looked and looked for a match but to no avail. There are caterpillar larvae that look very similar, and that picture looks like a caterpillar upside down with it's legs in the air. I've also searched for mention of larvae with white bump/nodules etc. as you'd think that would be mentioned since it is such a striking feature. Anyway I came across these guys... www.whatsthatbug.com/so I've asked them. fingers crossed...

I was thinking the same thing,it looks like its laying upside down.I noticed that there are two mites(?)near it.Maybe those two killed it.

Those two bugs near it are springtails.

Nope, it was walking around at the time, it has little clumpy hairs on its back (the things that look like feet).
Will try and get the other pictures.. Its some form of catterpillar/worm thing, because it has a propper head. Rather than just a big maggoty tube.
