hey people,
just wondrin so's i can prepare myself, what exactly happens when a snail dies? no need for graphic details i just need to know to prepare for it in a few years time as my snails are still pretty young - my oldest is about 2 years old.

I tell you one thing is they blooming stink of fish when they're dead,yuk.

Also what I've seen with my snails is that they turn rubbery,sometimes greenish and glossy. Other times they retract so far into the shell you can't see the body anymore.

You will know when the time comes, you will notice the snail behaving 'differently' it will probably stop eating first, most then retract into their shell, and then it is just a question of gently picking it up every day and giving it a sniff............
