Moss?

I've been looking for moss like everywhere now. The only I've found was spaghnum moss, a liiiiittle bag for 60 SEK (around 6,4 Euro) and that's just to expensive.
Does anyone know where I can find cheeper moss? Or maybe anyone are willing to sell me some moss?

It isn't especially cheap here... At the diy store I get a small ish bag (does my 2 small tanks once) for just under £3. It isn't light when wet, I suppose we could dry it, but add postage it wouldn't be any less. There are reptile supply places on the net that sell it dry and compressed as well as wet I think. I don't have the links Kevin I think knows it. Nat

Nat I buy moss from this place www.pollywog.co.uk/shop-main.htmlJust over half way down the page, you get quite a lot (not sure of weight you would have to ask the site) for the price

Why buy moss when it's free? Just put your wellingtons on and visit the nearest bog, it's the same moss as the commercial one.
Good hunting!

Good hunting! /Fredrik I collect bags of moss from the mountain for my garden, I hadnt thought of using it for any of my pets though, just in case theres parasites, or similar in it.

bog is a very wet muddy environment, kinda like a lake but there's elss water so its jsut little puddles and very wet mud everywhere.
nasties, you can microwave, boil or even freeze the moss to kill off things.
although most things prolly arent to much of concern to the snails.

Well, the most suitable moss for terrarium purposes are the Spaghnum moss. The moss you'll find on logs and stones are another moss. More about different mosses:http://www.sbf.c.se/MV/index.htm Once again a Swedish site, but use the translation I posted in another thread.

Yes, I can't see why not, rinsing it in water every week is a good idea. It'll stay a live for quite a while. You can still use it when it dies but eventually it will need to be replaced coz it breaks up and gets mixed in with your substrate by accident.
