I have a spider plant to put in my snail tank, but I use moss not soil so will it still grow? The plant pot takes up to much space in the tank and then they can't get to it anyway. I've thought about putting a layer of soil underneath the moss but that would be hard to clean.

Can you put it into a smaller pot with soil in and then cover the pot with a tight leg or something so the soil wont fall out if they knock it over but it can still be watered? That's what I've been meaning to try to grow one of mums baby spider plants in one of my tanks but I keep forgetting Lol.
It will obviously restrict the roots, but that's how bonsais are grown (and many other plants are kept like it) Plus it should stop it going too mad and you might not have to "de-baby" it quite as much Lol. It should still grow, it just shouldn't go mad. (My mums one has been in the same basket with some other plants for years, it doesn't get any bushier but still throws off quite a few babies lol)
Hope I made sense lol.

What about getting some air plants? (plants that don't need potting or soil) Some available on the link below: www.livefoods.co.uk/default.php?cPath=41The website is advertising them for reptile vivariums, so I'd guess they are not poisonous.

They need spraying with food too though. I don't know if it's safe for the snails? You'd have to take them out to spray them, but I don't know if the snails would try eating them when you put them back in. And they do need the food, my 2 are dead even though I watered them lol. I kept forgetting about the food. They were fine when I remembered the food, but then I forgot and left it too long and they died.
