Just wondered if any of those who use storage boxes for their snails, could share some piccies of their set ups? I'm planning on making mine more interesting for them now that the little creepy visitors have disappeared. All that fuss for nothing - I only ever saw one of them on one snail, gave them all a batch, chucked out bedding, micro'd the new stuff - not had them since! *lol* So I'd love inspiration for mine if anyone's got any piccies

Ps. Paul, do you still have your storage boxes doubled up? Any pics? Am thinking of attempting it for the margies tanks, but dont know where to start.

Margie and two-tone tub: Iredalei and smithii tub: The tub I have for the tigers will have the same plant and plant pot thing as the margies and two-tones as I have another plant the same size and design to use (it'll probably be on the other side of the tank). It will have a bigger pool though (that's if the tigers I get don't act the same as the margies and don't care about water lol) and maybe a smaller food bowl. I might make the moss tub in the margie and two-tone tank a bit shallower so that it doesn't get moved so much when they get in it lol. Or I might just get rid of it and throw loads more moss everywhere lol. It doesn't matter too much with them as they lay easy to find and move eggs! I also have some perspex which dad is cutting pieces off of for me to make levels for that tank and one of my others (the pet pals type one not a storage tub). Just to give them a different area ;D Dunno if it'll take fat ass Freddies weight though rofl.

The red thing is land-drain piping. It is ribbed so by cutting a quarter circle from the outer most rib, you get a lip that can twist on and off. It snaps on if you see what I mean.

Oooo I think we have some big tube stuff around somewhere. Maybe I could do that with one of my big tanks. Buy another one like the iredalei and smithii are in, put it the other way up and add it on....
Damn you Paul you've got me thinking now!! Lol

I'm contemplating this for my biggies. I'm not getting my baby tigers any more, and am hoping by Brixton time I'll be able to get one or two adults then instead. I've got my two big margie ovums (Boycie and M) - and hopefully an albino adult coming next month - and with the other baby margies, I'm trying to think of big set ups that are easy to clean out and hopefully stack.
I may just give in and get fish tanks yet, but stacking them wouldn't be possible, so I'd have to rick up some sort of stand/shelving. But if I can find plastic storage tubs bigger than my current ones, I'll probably get a few of them.

we've got a massive storage tub 2 foot x 2 foot x 2 foot, apart from the fact is pink! It's not mine though it's my parents and it's full of photographs, peh how boring...*mumbles*
I don't know where its from though

I went with the "ideal area" on the snail calc. Obviously you have to make sure the sides are long enough too. Don't want them feeling like they're in a padded room or anything rofl. Although I bet my lazy Freddie would love that I have some huge tubs for storage that I got from Staples but I have seen them in other places too. They're a more robust plastic and they come in pink and blue and white/clear. Will try and find a pic of them.

2 or 3 margies?!? more like 5 or 6, lol You reckon? My two biggies are in one that's about 32cm wide x 40cm high x 51cm long. Although I know technically it's enough space for two margies - it doesn't look it, so I want to give them a bit more space. I've just got my email saying they'll hold an albino adult for me and Kathy, and I've got Magenta, another youngster on it's way soon, and hopefully my baby albino should Sian's hatch. I've got space for them as it is, just thinking of when they're older. If I get two of those, I'd be planning on three margies in each. Then my current tanks could be hacked to bits to make a nice big tiger tank ;D Or I'd just get another pmsl!

These are the ones I have for storage. I have 3 really big ones (I think they're 84L ones) in the white/clear and 3 blue ones (The 42L ones if I've got the bigger ones right lol) My tank doesn't look big enough in some pics, but Freddie can stretch out -totally- on all the sides and lid/base and he can move around easily. (He just likes p**sing me off by moving the moss tub ) Obviously I might have to look at moving someone when the 3 babies get big. (And if all the eggs hatch and I keep 1) You and Kathy better be dancing and singing still

i know what you mean, when ever i take pics of the snails IN the tank, it always makes the tank look too small, so i just don't take pics of them in the tank, lol

That's a good idea rofl. I'll hide Freddie and Izrina in the flowerpot next time and just leave the 3 baby girls out rofl ;D

Yeah Sian, like Freddie - my two have plenty of room for sliming along the sides and lid. It's just I want to make it more interesting for them, like your tanks, and if I add anything to these it takes up a lot of floor space. It's probably like you said, they look smaller than they are, but I know I couldn't put two big tigers in one of the ones I've got now. Whereas I have 3 fulicas and Monty the retic in one of my newer ones, and it's perfect size for them.
And I have already got two tanks spare (my Tommy tank and my hinged lid B&Q one like Paul's), so if I move Boycie and Marlene into a bigger one, that leaves their tank too. Handy for quarentine of the albino adult, and then the possibility of tigers in Brixton time.
OMG I'm confusing myself now. And I forgot amongst them I may have two iredaleis coming rofl....but heaven help me, that's it now!

LOL *Gives choccy* Calm down lol If you put a flower pot in the way I have it might not take up much room and it will still give them somewhere to hide. (Well it doesn't look like it takes up much room anyway lol) You can make it more interesting with just plants, that wont take up room 'cause they can go under and over them like they would in the wild.

No choccie thanks, it's pancake day, and dont I know it - I've shovelled tonnes down - it's probably the added calories sending me motormouthed. ;D
I'm gonna order two of those big tanks on Thursday if they relist them. I'll put B & M in one, and the babies in the other. One iredalei in each if it goes ahead. Spare tanks will do for quarentine/poorlies if needed. Fulicas stay put. There.
Then either split the babies into the two spare tanks, and put Brixtons in one of these ones I'm ordering, or get another one nearer the time.
Phew. That's it!

Rofl I've only had 4. We had some mix but couldn't be bothered so we had microwave ones but they weren't nice aunt bessie ones I think I'm gonna try joining some of my tanks with the big pipe stuff like Paul has. Will have to do it so I can disconnect them easily for when I need to spray/feed though lol. Lifting two tanks down from the shelves at the same time doesn't sound fun!!

That's a good point. Mine are on a low coffee table, stacked.
Talking about pancakes, daughter's eaten too many and is currently barfing. Best go...

Lifting two tanks down from the shelves at the same time doesn't sound fun!! I'll knock up some better instructions if you need them. You'll need something with a lip on both sides of each tank wall it connects to, so land drain is ideal if you can find any.
