Downloading / InstallingDebian:As root type: apt-get install xchatSuSE:As root type: yast2 -i xchatRedHat, Mandrake and other RPM distros:Download your RPM: www.rpmfind.net/linux/rpm2html/search.php?query=xchat&submit=SearchThen as root do: rpm -i /path/packagename.rpmwhere path and packagename are replaced by your path and RPM name. Installing from source:Obtain from: www.softpedia.com/progDownload/XChat-Download-2742.htmlAs root do: tar -zxf package.tar.gz
or tar -jxf package.tar.bz2
where "package" is replaced by your downloaded file name. Then cd into the directory and do: ./configure make make install Running itTo run it either type: xchat
from a terminal or mini-commander or select it from your menus. ConfigurationThe following 2 screens will be enough to show you how I have it set. Choose your own Nicknames:

For Gentoo run emerge xchat and wait  (i think, i'll check that later)
