 2cm eggs  Suturalis/Ovum cross. 2cm   Suturalis/Ovum cross 4/4.5cm  Albino ovum. 11.5cm  Ovum columella  Ovum 16.5cm Cross is captive bred by Arno, both ovums are wild caught (I think, not sure with the albino) All my pics. |

same snail in all pictures. age unknown-adult though, length of shell-13cm, origin unknown but wild caught, specific subspecies unknown my picture, taken last night, picture of mouth when eating earth of the tank wall-pretty interesting  eating porridge   from above, shell partly wet  |

Both marginata ovum. age unknown. Enid-(darker one) is larger 15-16 cm wild caught (Brixton). Bridget-(lighter one) is captive bred by fatslug size around 14.5cm length. I think the pictures show how different the species can be when bred in captivity, have included a pic of Bridgets columella to show that it is apricot so shows she is an ovum. if im wrong about species please let me know.       |

Adult archachatina marginata var. suturalis "albino". Age uknown as WC.  Different snail, but same type and origin.  Top two - adult archachatina marginata var. ovum, bottom - adult var. suturalis "albino" for size comparison. Ovums are 14cm and 16cm. Haven't measured my suturalis yet, but it shows the difference in size between ovums and suturalis pretty well.  |

Archachatina marginata Age : fully adult, despite the size. Shell is thickened and recurved at the lip. Size : 113.2mm Locality : wc in an area south east of Victoria, Cameroons in an area getting to the base of Mount Cameroon. Form : very dark patterned shell, solid black in areas. May be a melanistic specimen of some of the known forms which display a darker lower half on the body whorl ( e.g. eduardi, egregiella, egregia, clenchi). Attachments:

Age : full adult, lip recurved and thickened Size : 141.1mm Location : wc Ikorodus, western Nigeria Subspecies : Archachatina marginata icterica Bequaert & Clench, 1936.This is one of three albino (shell) forms of marginata and they are all uncommon to rare. The shell is without any dark marks or flammules and is entirely creamish white on the early whorls and columella, whilst the interior of the lip appears a bluish-white.The periostracum gives it an greenish yellow appearance, with the lower half of the body whorl slightly darked than the rest of the shell. This is a feature of the periostracum and not the color of the underlying shell. It was originally described from Gabon as "uniformly straw-yellow, also at the apex, without any indication of streaks or spots. The interior of the aperture and upper part of the columella are slightly bluish". Here are details of the early whorls. I'll post a pic of the whole shell in the next message Attachments:
