Noo purchased as is, arrived this morning. Theyre the start of my breeding plan, but I havent got a very good male/female ratio so will have to see if I can purchase some female imagos when the time comes. They are a total of 6 3 pupae/3 grubs. Set me back about £50+postage. Also have some stag beetles on the way, though these arnt captive bred so could last a few days and die :\ They were a bit of an impulse buy. However I do have 3 species of fruit beetle in culture which are currently laying so hopefully success there in 8 months or so

Wish I lived closer sarah But the problem with wild caught specimins (which I'd imagine they were at that price) is the fact you dont know how old they are, if theyre already mated or if theyve already completed laying. Its the risk Im taking with the stag beetles, but then theyre not for me as such and theyre not a breeding concern. From virgina cheeseman Shes a bit pricey but again its better than adult stock if youre looking at starting a culture. My last lot were from a guy in france, I check the exchange boards regularly though most dont accept paypal and it can be a bit risky. I actually wanted all grubs, but they had already started to pupate so Im stuck with 3 and 3 and a gamble on the pupae.
