is anyone interested in slugs like i am? dont get me wrong i love snails i just love slugs more! i have never owned a snail or slug until today! for awile now i have been asking my mom for a banana slug but she said no and she also said that if i wanted a slug so bad i should go outside and find a pet garden slug. so today i went outside and caught a nice lttle 1 1/4 inch garden slug. i am going to name him/her sludge because they make all of that sludge like slime. sludge is not as cool as a banana slug but i am still happy with him or her (if you know how to tell them appart let me know) right now i have sludge in a plastic critter ceeper with thos tops that are always diffrent colors. i have an inch deep bed of moist dirt with a small piece of wet rotted log. i also have a small slippery rock in the container and i am currently feeding sludge bananas. tell me what you thinkl!

Hello and welcome to the forum!I like slugs as well, but we don't have any Bananaslugs where I live.I guess you live somewhere on the East coast of the US?Your slug is both him and her so that's easy ;D .I would feed your slug not only banana's but different kinds of fruits and vegs (lettuce, cucumber etc)

i was visiting my grandama in Gualala, and there are redwoods everywhere. i went hiking with my sister, and it had previously rained, and he was just slithering around. he is half black and half yellow, with some spots inbetween. find somewhere with lots of redwoods, and i'm sure you'll find one, as long as you live around california, because that is where i live.

Just like whodoesntlovesnails, I see banana slugs when I go into redwood forests, but I've never kept any.
I've kept threeband gardenslugs in the past (though none currently). There are lots of them in my yard. Even though they are not as big as banana slugs, they are quite interesting little creatures. Mine loved lettuce a lot.

They like it cool and humid. Try looking at night, after misting the tank.
