try bathing her in water thats been boiled with dock leaves and sage in and cooled so its a bit below room temp (cool) (remove the sage and dock leaf first ), that should help ease the swelling, the lumps sound strange, do they move around under her skin if you touch one, sorta like a piece of gravel? it could be an allergic reaction to something, but it sounds sorta like mumps (can snails get that?)

i'll see if i can get some this evening at feeding time. the lumps are kinda like when they eat and you see a lump moving on the back of their neck as they swallow? Just all over. She also seems a bit lethargic after waking, kinda spreads herself out and not moving. She seems to be eating though it not the dreaded retraction problem that I've been having bad luck with the past few weeks i'll post some pics tonight.

Feed her with a variety of food, and bath her. That's my advice, I don't have any experience, but it may work... GOOD LUCK!

Its funny but when i bathe her she seems to swell up even more so i'm reluctant to do so. i tried bathing her in normal lukewarm water, and water with green tea (diluted of course). you think it may be the water is too soft round here?

to natasa... yes they get offered a lot of diffrent stuff but she seems very fussy...she isn't eating much but is pooing ok her favourite at the mo is butternut squash. I keep trying to take pics but she doesn't co operate very well! to katie... thanks for the info! i hope it isn't a parasite...i can't see anything on her so fingers crossed it isn't anyways. I'll have a go on other websites but i have found this one to be the most informative. No change in her condition as yet but she seems slightly better today.

If it's a Leucochloridium parasitic infection, the snail's tentacles will swell, pulsate and take on a brilliant color. This is to attract birds, which think they are worms and pluck them off, only to ingest eggs of the parasite, which mature in the bird's digestive tract and get excreted out, to be eaten by a snail and start the process all over again. (Video here: www.anglingmasters.com/10-bizarre-behaviors-of-parasites.asp, scroll down to #8, but it's kind of gross). According to wikipedia, the snail generates a new eyestalk.

hey everyone, i'm back after being off line for like 3 months.... sad to say that since then Sprout has passed away *sob* buried her up in a local graveyard. i have also lost my eldest, Enzo, as he was old, about 4-5 years, and their son Warlock to a retraction illness. My morale is not good at the mo very tough time for me. hope everyone is all good anyways. good to be back

i know its a bit late but it sounds like a liverfluke or something? just wondered what substrate u were using if its just garden soil it could be harbouring the beasties. i used to get soil out of the garden and microwave it before use to try and kill off any bacteria lol. i dont know if thats advisable really tho!!!! use bagged compost now
