Hi all,
It states in the care sheets for snails that a bath regulally is good for them.
How often do you bathe them?? Do you scrub them at all, shell and / or foot ?? do you dunk or wash in running water??
Thanks for the help,
Graham

You should bathe your snails regularly to help keep them clean and free from pests. NEVER completely submerge the snail because they will drown. It is better to sit it in a shallow dish of room-temperature water and then run the water over the snail's body. Make sure the water is not too cold or too hot. Room temperature is ideal.
To clean the shell use either your finger or an old, soft toothbrush to gently brush away any dirt etc. off the shell. Heavy scrubbing is unnecessary and may scar the shell so never scrub too hard or use a hard-bristled brush. It is also helpful to use a plant sprayer. NEVER use detergent or any cleaning fluids on the snail.
You can polish the shell by gently rubbing sesame seed oil on the shell using a piece of non-rough cloth or lint.

I would bath the snails every day as in the wild they don't get scrubbed, if you have a spray bottle just spray them, I give my snails now a bath once a week or every two weeks. I bath them, give them a scrub and treay them like royalty for the day ;D

Hi all,
Thanks for the replies. Is there no chance of drowning them??
Forgive my ignorance but do you run the water over the shell of also turn them upside down and wash them the other way too??
Thanks,
Graham

I meant to put wouldn't xD People keep thinking im weird when im saying i dont but then say I would instead of wouldnt.
What I do is run both taps, get a cup, fill it with warm water then pour over the snails.
A cold bath for some types of snails isnt good, I noticed when i had my tiger that she wouldnt come out when i poured cold water over her, with warm water though she was out and about. Always use warm water though.
I turn mine over, they cover their air hole up and if you quickly wash them they should be fine, I give my snails a full massage when i bath them so I normally turn them over, but you dont have.
