Turned out that I couldn't afford mites at the moment, so I tried another strategy. I took all the snails out of their tanks, cleaned them of any mites and put them in isolation in storage boxes, and then I covered all the airholes in the main tanks in order to sufocate the mites in the tanks. Now it's 3 days later and all the snails are definatly mite free, thoose who where poorly have recovered and they are all eating well. I have not opened up the main tanks yet but on the insides of the glas I can see some dead mites so I think it worked. I'll wait a couple of more days in order to kill them all. do mite eggs need oxygen aswell by the way? If they do I have to come up with a new plan.

I'm glad your plan worked to suffocate the adult mites. But as you said, the nits are another thing to consider. I think you may need to keep the tank sealed for the rest of a mite's lifecycle to account for any eggs laid in the meantime. It would be a shame to reopen the tank prematurely after all the trouble you've gone to.

It dosen't seem to be working.. There are still mites crawling around in there so I ordered some predatorly ones to finish the job.. If there are any swedes on this forum ever looking for mites try www.predator.se. They aren't as expensive as other sellers; 181 sek for the mites and 50-60sek for the delivery.

try giving the snails bath in luke-warm water a couple of times a week...the mites hate it, but the snails love it.
Give your bathroom sink a good wash hold a snail in hour hand and with the other cup water over the bodies and shell, you can use an old toothbrush to remove any soil from the grooves in the shells. when you've cleened one pop it on top of some damp paper while you bath the others.
It's a bit late as you've already ordered the mites but I'd recommend throwing all the substrate out or as mentioned on the website putting in on a baking sheet and putting it in a hot oven for an hour or two. That will kill the mites and the eggs.
good luck

the snails have been mite free for a week or so. It was the tanks that where a problem. They are quite large glas tanks and are hard to clean out but not impossible. As I have furnished them with lots of plants, rocks and stuff that I couldn't clean I figuered that the cost for the plants and soil so to say widely outgrew the cost for mites. So the cheapest option was the mites. The predatory mites have arrived by the way and their litteraly feasting on the snail mites. It's quite cruel to see as they hunt them down on the walls of the glas tank. They seem to kill a lot more than they eat though so in a couple of days they'll probably start to starve..
Do anyone know if the predatory mites might harm baby snails? They seem quite vicious and as some of my snails are quite small I'm worried that they might become targets as the predators soon will start to starve...
