My new snail, Doogle, who is an adult Achatina Fulica, seems to be rather lazy at the moment. He's been eating plenty including carrot, cucumber, baby tomatoes, lettuce and the odd dog biscuit Now, onto my query, Doogle hasn't climbed the walls of his tank at all. Most of the time he just sits with his face squished up against the side of the tank. I haven't seen him retract fully into his shell before. Is my snail just lazy, or is there something wrong with him? I want him to be as happy as possible and would be grateful for any help =3

I don't think that's a problem. Different snails have different behaviour. And it's good that he doesn't retract fully into the shell.

Thanks Mike After I held Doogle up to the side of the cage yesterday, he's decided he likes to climb XD I'm glad that it's healthy for them not to fully retract, I haven't seen him retract completely since I've had him! He is a rather nosy and fearless snail

try spraying the sides of the tank to encourage him to climb.

your lucky to have a snail that doesn't (or didn't) like to climb! my snails spend 3 quatres of their day on the roof, its a pain in the bum when you are trying to get them off the sides to clean!!!

My snails daint climb either. They just laze around all day. And then when you feed 'em its like a fenzy!
