Hiya, my fulica must be nearly 4 months old. They seem fine - nice shells (about 5cms), active, eating. But they just look skinny to me. They are fussy eaters and hate change but they will always eat lettuce (proper green stuff not iceberg), courgette, dog biscuits, brown bread. Anything else they just try and then leave. They are crazy for cuttle and they have a heat mat. How do you get snails to put on weight?

have you tried sweet potato or honeydew melon? also cucumber is very popular with fussy eaters. If the snails have been growing a lot lately then they may fill out again when the growth spurt ends. Otherwise make sure they have plenty of room and the right tank conditions and they should be fine. It might also just be worthwhile checking for mites although its highly unlikely thats the problem.

Thanks - I'll try the sweet potato and the melon. They don't have mites as far as I can see. I'm probably fussing about nothing but I might get them some snail food from ebay too.

My little albino reticulata is a fussy one. He seems to like more now luckily. But He LOVES porrage oats though, and this fills them up for longer. Try it wet or dry, Wet is easier to consume i guess. My iredalei eats everything left over

Try mushy moistured fishfood always a hit, if you are worried of snails getting too much protein buy vegetable flakes then and I'm thinking of buy and try some reptile pellets if I find low in calsium and without extra vitamis should like them too ( soak them of corse when I serve them).. Mango baby food is popular food too. My snails like to eat unsalted shrimps btw, I always soak long time shrimps so I get most of salted frozing water out of them. My snails loved as babies to eat coconut flakes, now they don't I have to try to hide them in to food so I don't have throw them away (those white things that you put on cakes and stuff). My snails are too nuts about (unsalted)nuts little bit crushing with knife they are easier to eat.
