slugs or snail?
it just popped into my head as i was walking to my corner shop. it was very cold.
so would iut be slugs or snails? 'cause snails have their shell for warmth but slugs only have small shells inside their bodies. and other slugs dont have them at all?

I think a better question would be which slug versus which snail, perhaps. I can only speak for GALS but in my experience, margies and tigers are far more likely to try and seal themselves up for the winter than, say, retics. I would imagine a tropical slug is far more vulnerable to cold than any garden slug that can survive a British winter.

i would think generally slugs, as you said snails can seal themselves into their shells

But slug slime tends to be thicker than snail slime, so maybe that would protect them better.

As far as I know most slug spieces tend to die during the swedish winter while snails survive buried and sealed in. I've heard of certain slugspieces hibernating by gathering in huge numbers underground and like flies clutch together. In spring those who was in the center should have survived while those who was at the outmost part should have died. However this could be another myth about slugs as they are pretty hated around here and people tend to believe all sorts of things they say about them.
While we're on the subject. A swedish politican from the christian party wanted to make the whole swedish people to go out to kill slugs earlier this year. It would have been ilegal to not kill a slug if you had the chance was the idea ."To solve the slug problem" they thought. Of course the idea wasen't voted through but just that they sugested it says something about swedish democracy

It's a rightwing religous party named, in a very rough translation, the christian democrats. It was a suggestion that every able person in sweden where going to be forced to kill slugs more or less, how it was going to be performed I'm not sure of. However they where ridiculed pretty widely for this sugestion.
