would everyone please share with me their hints and tips on getting a stubbon snail to move! Often when it comes to the weekly clean out one ( or more ( usually more if they know I haven't got time to do it at any other point) stick themselves to the side of the tank and recoil in to their shell so you can't get a finger between them and the tank wall!
My Snails often make celebrity appearances at my LO's school and trying to encorage them to detach from the side of the tank and into their traveling tank can be some what frustrating!
cheers in advance

You could try spraying the side right above them so it drips down - that can help them loosen their grip and you can slide them up the wet bit and off the top. Mine usually poke a little bit of themselves out to investigate the sudden downpour, and sometimes that's enough to get a fingertip between them and the wall! After that it's just a matter of leverage

Dusk's technique is what I use.

same, although sometimes i gently rub a little lettuce on them, sounds strange but if my guys think foods around they come out like rockets, metaphorically speaking of course.

I spray around them to loosen the grip and then use a wedgeof cucumber, and slide the thin side underneath them to lift them off

Ah, cunning - both a lever and a favourite meal, it can't help but get their attention

I use the same method as Dusk and make sure my hand is wet it's easier to slide your finger tip underneath. I don't have this problem too often mine like to wallow in their water dish and you get the dish along with the snail when you try and move them.
