I no longer have any adult fulicas. Can people more familiar with them confirm/comment on this please?
The petsnails page on fulicas says:
The columella and the parietal callus are white or bluish-white with no trace of pink.
Is this true for hamillei and jades? I just got a good look at one of my larger young jadatzis and the columella is a very clear dark pink.

Come on guys - someone out there must have adult fulicas and/or white jades and/or rodatzis. I would take it as a personal favour if you could take a squint at the little dears for me

Sorry Dusk as you know ( i think ), i only own 2 juvenile white jades and the same amount of sub adult rodatzi's , i mean i can take a look if you want they arent babies and so it may help a little.
I had the same problem to be honest myself and Kevin ended up deciding that ( possibly ) my two tigers are togensis, however its very difficult to confirm this 100 %. The problem was they are not seen in captivity, hopefully they are in captivity ( in my house ) now. There appears to be absolutely no red on the columella whatsoever.

could you get a pic? they shouldnt have a pink columella, as they are fulica like rodatzi and white jades.

I took pictures of the three individuals large enough to hold without risk of damaging them. Snail 1: Snail 2: Snail 3: Bonus shot of snail 1 trying to be helpful: They're not great shots but they show the colour pretty clearly. I couldn't get them to retract any further, every time I poked 'em or sprayed 'em they came out more to see what i was doing

that is strange, they shouldnt have a pink columella, since jadatzi is the offspring of fulica rodatzi and white jade theres no reason why they should have a pink columella like immaculata?

Well, that's what confused me a bit... if I'd bought them I'd wonder if they were sold under the wrong species name but I hatched these babies out myself and the only possible parents are a jade and a rodatzi. I've never owned immacs until recently and all the ones I have now are babies under 1cm in size.
Can anyone who's had these snails from me take a look at theirs when they get the chance, to see if they all have this coluoration? And I know there've been a couple of other jade x rodatzi clutches around here - what do their columellas look like?

Dusk, i didnt get my jadatzi off you but,Sasha is a jaditiza and her columella isn't pink, its just her shell colour, pale yellow with a pink stripe down it.

I've noticed a lot of young snails in a wide variety of species have a pink or brown columnella until they get older, none of my immacs get the bright pink till they reach a certain size. mabye the columnella colour develops with age, size or sexual maturity?
