My juvenile fulicas moved into the tank today, and since they got in there, they have really been active and still is, my baby retics on the other hand that still live in their storage box, is pretty much only sleeping and i have to wake them up to get them to be active at least for a bit. Ive just woke the retics up and placed on the food, since they have been asleep all day, or should i maybe have let them be? Kinda want them to get a bit bigger (about 2cm or so atm) so they can move into my fulica tank (they are about 5cm) And the conditions is the same, about 25 degrees celcius and moisture is around 80%. So what do you people say? Should i keep waking the babies up at least once a day to make sure they eat, or just let them care for it by themselves? Im just worried they will become weak since they dont move around that much =(

Usually babies just sleep and eat. My baby snails didn't move much till they where something like 2cm shell lenght after that they been very active fellas and eating like lil bigs. Some snails grow faster than others, first my snails grow 5mm in month, then 1cm in month and now something like 1,5cm per month. They r already now 4,5-5,5cm and still growing. I think none animals should be woked up middle of sleeping, I read some animals lifespand will be shorter if u woke then too often. Baby snails will know when they r hungry but they r first so small that u can't really tell if they been eating.

it might be an idea to just surround them with food, and if they wont touch cuttlefish, maybe sprinkle some on the food. then they can just pop their heads out and munch away! make sure their water bowl is close too.
