Hi, I have a Jade and when i checked him this moring he was dangling strangely from the roof, what i mean is he was not all sucked in with his foot sticking on, instead he was stuck to the side but drooping down to the shell so his long body was hanging out. I put him onto the food but his body did not seen right so ive seperated him into a smaller house. He ignored all his favorite food and part of his body is swollen from the shell. Is this a mantle colapse? He does not seem to be ablt to control his shell. What should i do? Thanks.

Is it possible to post a pic of him? Which part of his body is swollen -- the foot or around the mantle area?

Hi, I do not have access to a digital camera at the minute but will try and get it soon. It appears to be swollen at the mantle.

I've had a snail with a swollen mantle. It didn't seem to affect him in any way I could see other than he didn't retract himself fully sometimes.
In a mantle collapse, apparently you're supposed to be able to see over the rim and right down in the shell (http://www.petsnails.co.uk/problems/mantle_collapse.html#start).
How long has he not been eating? It may be just a coincidence that he ignored the food. But if he hasn't eaten for several days, then I'd begin to think there's a problem.

Hi, yes it looks like those pictures. I ffel so sorry for it. I managed to get him to eat grated sweet potato yesterday, just a small amount but he ate at least!
I will keep trying grated food and by keeping him isolated as i know what he is eating but he is just in a small house for now but without moss or soil. Should I put some in or just leep it as the plastic pot?
I can only try and hope to see if he gets better.

Your usual moss or soil should be okay, but be sure his tank is small enough that he can't climb up. Keep offering his favorite foods; any little bit he eats is a good thing because he might not feel all that much like eating.
Fingers crossed for you!
