hello i have noticed these little white/ yellow bugs? larvae? in the soil and they also go on the snails shell too iv been washing them twice a day too and they do come off they are TINY thin they dont jump and squish easily. i have cleaned the tank out compleatly and put new soil in and put everything back in once i put it in microwave for 1 min 10 secs to kill anything off.
are they bad to be in the tank? or are they okay and wont disturb the snails or eggs they lay? anything i can do to prevent this? thanks zoe

If they're mites, the only way to get rid of them is to use hypoaspis (predatory mites). They'll get rid of pretty much any tiny pests

It sounds like it could be fruit flies laying eggs - you get little horrid larvae things that hatch you need to do a complete clean out, and hypoaspis will kill off the eggs of any that do lay... flies seem to be a bit of a problem in this weather...especially with nice damp soil and access to fruit!!! Someone gave me a really good idea (sorry, I can't remember which of you it was!) to detract them from your enclosure - put a margarine tub with a few holes in the lid on the top of your snail's enclosure, put some damp soggy soil in there, and a piece of fruit, and they will go in there instead of in your snail house... Just replace this every few days when it starts to get manky or stinky!
