Just wondered how you know if a snail is dehydrated? I don't think mine are but I worry about the possibility, I have one that always sleeps upside down on the lid the rest hide when sleeping or bury themselves

As far as I know snails seal themselves in, and making a sort of lid over the shell openening if conditions is wrong, for an example, if it is too dry. As long as there is no lid over the shellopening, and tank is being moist enough I dont think there is nothing to worry about My snails never bury anymore since they moved into the permament tank. They just either sleep on the roof/walls of the tank or just directly on the substrate behind some plantpot, or even under the foodplate xD

Do you have a hygrometer in the tank to measure the relative humidity? That would take some of the guesswork out of maintaining proper humidity.
Do you have a water dish in the tank? A snail could always sit in the water dish if it felt dehydrated, to rehydrate itself. Some of my small snails do that in their tank. (I live in California where it can be hard to maintain a high humidity during our hot, dry summers.)

I ordered a hygrometer waiting for it to come, just probably worrying too much, none have sealed themselves in, and they are all active on a night, and when I put new food in I make sure they all come out for a bit, they are my first land snails so probably just being overly cautious

I recommend everyone use a hygrometer in their tank; there's no guess-work that way. There's nothing wrong with being overly cautious.
