I go out of my way to get organicly grown fruit and veg for my fulica. I'm so worried about pesticides (bio-accumulation and all that). It does rather limit what I can feed him though (even if he is a picky eater) and makes his upkeep three times as expensive, unless I order online, in bulk... and between the two of us we can't manage that much food XD
Am I worrying over nothing though? Would I be okay with just giving food a really thorough clean?

I give all my snails whatever is available at the store, and that I know that they can eat, organic grown or not But I always make sure to wash it all extra carefully, and I havnt noticed any of my snails taken ill from it.

Mr Coyote and I ourselves will eat only organic produce, so we give the snails organic produce as well. It's all washed before offering, as well. We do not want to risk any of them getting sick because of a chemical residue on something we put in the tank.
We are lucky in that there are several farmer's markets nearby with many organic vendors, as well as a few natural food stores in the area, so it's easy for us to obtain organic produce.

50/50 then. I suppose I could get him the odd very tasty thing now and then that isn't organic.

I don't buy organic for snails. Here's organic stuff are so expensive and mostly in big malls and in some health food shops so I think it would be really bit waste of time go to get food for snails nother side of capital city than my own ones. If I'm handlng some private matters then I will usually go to big supermarket and buy some lovely exotic fruits for them. Some plants which I'm allergic to I have to chop them and freeze those which are not going to be eaten in few days. Some fruits get really easily bad so i take some melt before feeding time. My snails are not yet eating much just 2 of 9snails is grown ups.
