I found a snail on a plant we got in for the holidays at work, after much debating I could not in good conscience leave him out in the cold to probably die. I want to get him a friend but I don't know much about snails and if my lil guy is going to stay small. I have not been able to identify the species of my snail after combing the internet. I want my snail to be happy and not lonely so is there a species of snails that can be obtained easily in USA that does not grow very big? My lil guy is just the size of the tip of my pinky. Would I be better off waiting a few weeks to see if he'd grow? How fast do snails grow? Help?! q.q

Welcome to the forum. Snail poo is the color of whatever they've recently eaten: lettuce = green, carrot and sweet potato = orange, cuttle = white, etc. Different colors are normal. I saw the pics you posted in the other thread, and it's hard to say what kind of snail you have or what its age might be. Regardless, your snail will not be lonely living by itself. I've kept single snails on occasion, and they've done just fine. Since you found the snail on a plant, is it possible to contact the horticultural supplier and ask them what snails they usually find in their shipments? They may be able to help you identify what you have. If you find out, let us know.
