Does anyone use these? I'm very tempted to get one (lazy, me? Never!) But I have a few concerns/questions;
1) How can exo-terra et al charge £30 for what appears to be exactly the same thing that hydroponics/Halloween suppliers sell for £15 (mini fogger)?
2) Would the ultra sonic fogger stress the snails?
3) Would it significantly improve humidity?
I don't really have concerns about drowning, or them chewing through the electrical wires or anything like that (unless... do they do that?)
Yes, I know; I could just spray more often... but I have to work and sleep and I'm happy to pay out money to improve a) my snails' living conditions and b) the appearance of their tank... a dash of mist in the morning/evening would be rather pretty.
Opinions?
lol, I think I've spent more money on my snails in the last six months than I did on my rats in 10 years...

Only thing I know is that waterfeatures can very well increase the humidity a bit, not sure about the other things. I can only guess that the reason Exo Terra charges more is because its a reptile brand, they know people will pay money to give their pets the best, even tho most of what they sell can be either found in other random stores or even be home-built I doubt they would chew on the cables, perhaps taste a bit on them, but if you are worried about that you can always hide the cables in some shaped aquarium root or make something out of polystyrene. Id love to have a waterfeature for my snails including a background, but all that Im planning on building myself using polystyrene since Id be able to decide the look of it all by myself Just keep in mind that if you do get a waterfeature it will need to be cleaned alot due to the bacterias that love to gather in those things. Or you could just install a shower system in the tank and connect it to a timer, that way the tank will be sprayed automatically during the day

A shower/rain system would be awesome... but expensive to buy and I'm not entirely sure I could DIY myself one.
The tank I have has a polystyrene fake rock background with built in hiding places for cables... which I forgot about. So that shouldn't actually be an issue.
When you get round to making the stuff for your tank, you should totally do a guide for us XD

Yes fogger has to have timer on it otherwise it will come too soggy soil. I had waterfall, but I was really fed up that when some peat will come in water pump won't work no more. I'm thinking of fogger for holidays at summer so tank won't dry out. And I'm slowly working on this raining system really lovely. www.youtube.com/watch?v=wjiXI5UIf3II would not put fogger in side of terrarium, fogger needs lots a water to work and snails will drown if you don't cover that fogger water dish and I don't know does it make any good for fogger is soil goes to water.

Covers can be made/ bought for the foggers. Exo-terra also do a waterfall with a built in compartment for a fogger... which is tempting. Oh, I've seen that video on YouTube... way too big a project for me. Foggers are reasonably simple machines. They create ultra sonic vibrations that turn the standing water into mist. Peat getting into the reservoir shouldn't be much of a problem.

I was wondering about this, but i dont even know where i would begin in making a water feature for my snails, it sounds like it needs space and does it really save much money?

You can buy from petshops exoterras water pump and put pipe to it so water will go up. Snails are so messy that filtered water pump would be better. One my water pumps is broken because peat has made some blockage there.
I'm using now frogger. It needs small storage box hold water in and openings for fog needs to be in sides of container not on top of it. Frogger splashes water upwards little so containers lid blocks that if there's no lid frogger will run out of water pretty soon and snails could drown. If your using heatlamp you need to be careful with fogger fog might fly little upwards in breeze inside of tank so it would be wise to put it opposite end of terrarium so heat lamp would not get broken.
