The snails are going to eat me out of house and home!!!! LOL can't believe how much they ate this afternoon, all currently sleeping now. Bath time tomorrow so I can have a good look at them and get to know their shells.
The gerbil is going to take a bit of work to get him hand tame, he's a bit fast and will be picked up, but doesnt want to sit still for a minute!! My little one was holding him earlier and he went to jump so she caught him and he bit her, drew blood too, alot of it!!! but she is ok and I was really proud of her as she made sure she put him in his tank rather than just dropping him on the floor. So going back to basics with him and going to start with hand in the tank with treat taming first and work up. Will try to keep you up dated with our progress and hopefully photos.

I like to wash my snails shells with small soft sponge. Much nicer I think than toothbrush.

Make sure you give the snails some cuttlefish if you haven't already I only met the gerbil once, and he seemed very friendly so thats a good start. With rodents its a good idea to leave them be for 2/3 days to let them settle in before handling. I'm sure he wasnt being nasty, just not used to being held. You are doing the right thing by going back to basics. Perhaps purchasing a small animal playpen will help. This will allow him to get used to you without feeling constricted

Snails: The snails are nuts!! eat like crazy including cuttle fish and bits that my others wont eat including tomato!! and I have one that doesnt like sweet potato!!!!! Gerbil: Back to basics has helped, he is a bit calmer than he was, am disturbing his cage everyday so the bedding gets my smell on it so he can get used to it that way, and he will now climb on my hand if i sit with it in the tank!!!! Its a step the right way. Fingers crossed
