Does anyone know if it is safe to have cat grass in the tank? I think my tank looks quite boring since all my plants died due to the roots being suffocated by the moist substrate and I only got two 'lucky bamboo' plants in there now, so was thinking if cat grass would be safe for snails since we got a pack of seeds of it.

I think so i need to see if it can grow in tank. I mean snails dont really eat grass unless they are starving but they might start to eat when it starts to grow so put it in a long plant pot grow it then take out the grass (root and grss) then place in tank.

I think cat grass would be okay in the tank. Have you tried keeping plants in pots nestled into the substrate? That was you can have a little more control over how they're doing, and it's easier to swap in new ones.

I have noticed that easter grass has really short life span. About 2weeks is longest time that grass has been dark green in my tanks.

Ok nice to know As soon as the grass have grown a bit more (been growing it outside the tank for a few days), iI'll put it in the tank and see how much time the snails need to demolish it xD And no, Ive never let the plants stand in their pots when they been in the tank, so gonna do that from now on.

My adults enjoyed too much eating those roots and babies love to sleep under it.
