You have to be aware is it legal to take slugs from wild and make sure they aren't a protected species what you are planning to take. Slugs need only little bit higher humidity than snails and humidity has to be stable slugs can't protect them selves from dry conditions. Slugs don't need extra heat if you live in colder country. Where can find slugs and you know about how much usually is there temperature normally thats the same what slugs need. Snails and slugs can be kept in same if they are found in same places in wild. Some wc slugs and snail might have mites that's why would be important to pick those that slime around and you could see it looks healthy and normal and you can keep wc snails for while in their own terrarium to make sure they are healthy and if you see some weird long white worm coming out I think its best to take that slug back where you find it and try to find other one till you have healthy one.

Crossless gave some good advice. The only thing that I'd like to ask about is the heat mat -- unless you have GALS, you probably don't need a heat mat for the smaller species not native to the tropics or subtropics. (I forget what kind of snails you have.) So if you actually don't need the heat mat, you could go ahead and put the slug in that tank, otherwise it would probably be too warm for it.
The takeaway tub might be okay till Tuesday as a temporary home, if it has some depth to it to provide enough room to crawl around a bit.

I think it depents how big or should I say long slugs you are going to keep. I had 10 wc slug in 2,5litre faunarium and they had about 3cm long foot as stretched as foot can be. And they had really much space to slime around and they wouldn't too stuffed up. Then I have one slug in 750ml tube slug was small slug like 2cm from feet it felt like it would get lost in that big tube so I kept really simple that decoration. If you are going to get much longer like limax sized is about over even 10cm. I think it would be really nice that she/he would not needed to be folded halve many times so would have space to be straight in terrarium. Really tricky these slugs if you don't have eye for snails and slugs to estimate which would be too small for them and what too big.
