Just curious, has anyone here ever fed mealworms to their carnivorous snails (Achatina, Rumina decollata, etc)?
I think they may be too hard for snails, but wanted to check with others who may have tried them - maybe when they are still small and softer?
Thanks in advance.

I have heard one keeper tried but it came out whole, it's hard shell didn't digestion at all in inside of snail. Some people on SuperSnails forum give in fruit smash those dried ones, but I think they don't digestion right neither. It would be easier test with small amount than buy huge can of them. Maybe if you smash them they would digestion. But I have heard too that Ruminas would eat earthworms, I think with mealworms you should atleast wait till they change skin so it's it softest to feed then. I think if you like you can try it.

Thanks for the answer crossless. I'm dealing with a super-fussy Rumina decollata at the moment who refused all food I offered it so far, so I started inspecting the garden where I found it to get clues of what it might feed on usually. I found earthworms and (strangely enough) a mealworm, and offered both to the snail... in hope she will finally feed. The mealworm is still very small and soft-ish, but I don't think the Rumina will eat it, it's too "crunchy". (I used to keep mealworms to feed my turtle).

I've tried my Rumina on dried meal worms but they don't seem very interested. They eat lots of veg and soaked cat biscuit though.
