Hi there, I'm new to this forum (I'm from Germany), used the search-function and still didn't find what I'm looking for. So please be patient with me I own two A. immaculata "two tone", in Germany those snails are very rare and they don't seem to have the same needs in humidity and temperature as A. immaculata immaculata or Panthera. My Two-tones are rarely active and don't eat much, the snails of another Two-tone-owner I know behave the same and we wonder why. We keep them warm and humid, just as we would keep other Immaculatas - but this seems to be not correct. (this is since they woke up in march after six months of sleeping, before that they were active and hoggish, I own them since June 2009) I was just wondering, if there are other Two-tone-owners here in this forum? I would love to get in touch to exchange experience. Regards, Melanie

Hi Melanie, welcome to the forum. Have you seen the info page about two-tones on the main website? www.petsnails.co.uk/species/achatina_immaculata.html#startQuoting in part: ". . . above average heat and humidity seem to be preferred. Active snails when in good health, they also seem to be most interested in fresh fruit and vegetables as oppose to cereal mixes and decaying food. There have been a number of cases of bad shell growth and retraction problems, enough to mention it here. It is worth noting that other species have been affected but immaculata seem unusually prone, particularly when juvenile." I hope that helps, and I hope other two-tone owners can contribute some advice here as well. Good luck with your snails, and feel free to ask any further questions you might have.

Hi coyote, thanks for answering. Yes, I have seen the info page already. But unfortunately it doesn't quite help. "above average heat and humidity" is what mine are kept in. I really hope there are other two-tone owners here, although I don't get my hopes up when looking at the response-rate to my thread ;-)

I wish I could help, but for some reason right now nobody has any two-tones! Nobody I know of has any, and I haven't seen any for sale in a year or two. That may be why you're getting so little response They are on lots of wanted lists though. I hope you do resolve your problems - it would be wonderful if you could get yours breeding one day!

Ps: After receiving some requests via PM, I feel the need of telling you, that I will not sell them outside Germany. I've experienced lots of negative things regarding our postal service here in Germany.
