Pomatias elegans is one of the four species of Pomatiasidae living in Europe and the unique living in the Norten of Europe.
Is very common in Spain.
The other species live in Spain (Tudorella ferruginea and Leonia mamillaris) and Spain, Italy and Malta (Pomatias sulcatus).
This snails are not hemaphrodites (exist the two sexes).
