Hi, we're running a free weight clinic as part of a new animals series for channel 4 and we're looking for overweight animal to take part. Over 50% of the UK's cats and dogs are overweight, 1 in 4 of those is obese, it's a really common problem that affects a huge variety of species and can effect life expectancy and it can be tricky to treat without the correct advice. Our team of vets and nurses are the best in the country, the weight clinic is free and we'll even cover expenses, but places are limited and you'll need to contact us ASAP to avoid disappointment.
EMAIL US on animals@mavericktv.co.uk or call our hotline on 0121 224 8314 ASAP.
Thanks

When it comes to conventional pets, obesity in cats and dogs is a growing problem (no pun intended). But, really, how can anyone tell if a snail is fat? Is it even possible for a snail to be obese? Cepealove, I'd actually like to see their faces if you showed up with a nemoralis. I'd also love to see them overrun with snail keepers wanting their snails to be weighed and evaluated.

Lol, hmm anybody got a podgy looking baby GAL? That would make good viewing!
At the same time though there are many animals that are obese! I couldnt take any of my 4 dogs in as they are all the right weights. Alot of the issues with obesity are with pedigrees. Due to long lines of inbreeding. X

Pet obesity annoys me on so many levels though. I'll just stop there...
But yeah, not entirely sure you can make a snail obese. Fat, yes; my older fuli is a solid, heavy beastie.

I used to have a cat that became diabetic due to being overweight. The vet and I tried everything to bring his weight down and nothing worked. The vet said that the cat probably had a genetic tendency to run heavy, same as some people do. I had to give my cat insulin injections twice a day, until the day he died. So there are some serious consequences for overweight pets.
I still have a hard time imagining an obese snail, though.
