Hi there!
I'm trying to get into pet snails and I live in the united states. There seem to be a lot of bio-suppliers selling Rabdotus alternatus but I can't seem to find a good care sheet on them from anyone.
are these even good snails to care for? are they hardy? does anyone have info on breeding such snails?
I'd like to get some helix snails but they are banned here in florida.
thanks for reading my post, sorry if this is a dumb question, this is my first post.

Hi freejazztampa, welcome to the forum. I've never heard of that species before, so I looked at your links and did a little googling. Apparently they are native to the Lower Rio Grande Valley in Texas. They are about 1" long and prefer prairie conditions and riverbanks. That should give you some idea of what kind of climate and habitat they prefer. There's more pics here (including a pretty cool slug!), here and here. I see that the Carolina Biological Supply Co. also sells a land snail habitat kit, which includes food and instructions, which should include information on what to feed them once the included food supply runs out. That might be a way to get started. You could also email or call the company directly and ask what food they are providing in the kit, to give you an idea of what the snails eat. Or you could look on this page for their downloadable care sheet for land snails (plug-in needed). If you find out any more about them, please let us know! They look like interesting snails. (And I'm rather annoyed that those of us in California have to get a permit to get one, darn it.)

wow. If I lived in the US i know what snail I'd have. They are really pretty. Can't help with the care, but I'd go with what coyote suggested.
