I really wanted land snails that live in soil but NO pet store around here has them
but they all had fresh water snails so I bought two black snails &I just put them in the tank and they have yet to come out
but I was wondering, if you take them out of the water will they die?

Most aquatic snails can survive out of water for some time provided they don't dry out. I send aquatic snails through the post in damp filter wool or sphagnum moss and they're fine Some even take to being handled and hand-fed. What country are you in? It's possible to get land snails sent through the post in most places, if you have your heart set on them. ETA: Ah, I remembered you were in Florida. You might be able to get native snails through the post from other places in America, but I can offer no advice on how you might find out, alas.

Try looking outside at night when it's cool and damp. Turn over rocks and pieces of wood and look on the underside of leaves to find hiding places.
