Have i not looked after them properly at one end there tank is 18c and at the other end it is 22c They always have cuttlefish food and a shallow water dish to soak in, pumpkin is fine, so why did it happen? Sorry to hear that. I don't think anyone knows for sure why this sometimes happens. Some sort of chemical or pesticide on the food perhaps or maybe just old age.

Sorry about the bad news. A feeling of impotence when this things happen. If it was not old (how long an Acantina snail can live?? ), probably the vegetables. What I do it is giving the internal leaves from letuces to avoid any posibility of poison. Other thing it could be microorganisms in the aquarium. They could make your snail ill. 2 years ago, mines died during winter. It was like they were going to hibernate but never woke up again. I did not know why, well they were snails that someone gave me because they were not very healthy (children pets at school), so I dont know if finally they died of the accumulative effects. But 1 survived and some eggs gave me a baby :-). Today I have 4 (+ 2 babies), althought always I am taking eggs into the fridge, sometimes there is a little one that is born. If you want other ones I could give you the 2 little babies.
