Hi everyone,
I got 2 Tiger snails last week and have noticed they dont seem as active as my Fulica and Blondes. One in particular didnt come out of his shell today when I was (gently!) giving them their weekly clean which is odd as all my others ALWAYS come out and have a look around!
I have put this one by itself in a slightly warmer place with lots of food but am wondering, do they have any special needs compared to my other ones? I assumed I can just keep them like the others who are perfectly happy?!

My tiger snails are nocturnal, they usually dont wake up and move around till after midnight, but when they do they're quite active...Ive only seen them awake and moving during the daytime a few times since I got them
Two tigers I got this week for apple (from Virginia Cheeseman) are nocturnal as well.
I keep my tigers seperate to my other snails, they're tank is kept warm and humid, at the moment they're my only snails to have a UV light, Im not sure if they need extra care to fulica' and immaculata, maybe they need to be kept warm and humid to be most active?

Tigers need warmer wetter conditions to most other snails, they like water like margies do so a bowl of water they can sit in would be appreciated, and i spray mine a lot more than my other snails to keep them humid.

snailywaily, you mentioned in the snails from online sellers thread that you got your tigers from bugzuk, and in this thread that you got them last week, the snails on they're website listed as Tiger Snail is Archachatina marginata, the picture is marginata and the species is listed on the site as marginata, are the ones you got tiger snails or marginata?
There has been posts on here in the past about snails from bugzuk dying from unknown diseases, are you keeping them with your fulica and immaculata dimidiata? are your tigers wild caught?

Hi, yeah I got them from BugzUK as "Tiger Snail Nigerian Achatina Marginata". I assume these are Tiger Snails? No? Whats the difference? Oh god, I dont know!
Yeah.... they are currently kept with my Fulica and blondes. I did keep them on their own for a few days first. Oh jeez, maybe I should have kept them away from my others - I just assumed they'd be healthy. But my others have been fine, no problems at all with them.
I dont believe they were wild caught - I asked him and he said no, they were captive bred (as Im against wild caught) but then I guess you cant prove that......

lottiz - Im PM'd you!
SonicSnail - Yeah, I'll take some asap and post them on here. I think they probably are Margies though as their shells are quite stumpy (ie. not as pointy as the Tigers in the pics).
