Is the breathing hole the same hole that the eggs come out of because peole say that when you bath your snails you should make sure its not above the breathing hole, when i bathed my fulicas they put they heads flat on the base andput their eyes above the water when i took one out and held it upside down i noticed the 'egg' hole was open ( take in mind mine are only juvinilles) and then it shut is this the breathing hole?

That big hole underneath is the breathing hole. You can see eggs in it when they are pregnant, but thats not where the eggs come out of. The eggs actually come out of the hole in the neck where their "privates" are.

really! that would be like men giving birth! isnt that painful or is it like elasticated? so they could submerse their whole head under if the breathing hole was not flooded! thanks Moracai!

Mine will stick their whole heads under the water and scoot across the pool with just their eye stalks poking up. It looks quite cute So yes, as long as they can breathe, they are quite happy in the pool. I would imagine the opening on the neck is quite elasticated, but it still seems to tire them out. Mine usually seem crawl off to bed for a day after laying. Can't say I blame them though, must be hard work.
